PerformancePoint Server Monitoring CTP2 Requirement on SQL SP2

Next week you should have access to CTP2 if you are interested.  Well, to prep you for some requirements when it is available, make sure you apply SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 2 in the next few days.  It is a 282meg download and is required before you install CTP2.

Happy downloading!

What piece of the performancepoint CTP2 install would just be the proclarity analytics?

There are four install”

1) Planning server

2) Planning Business Modeler

3) Add-in for Excel

4) Monitoring Server

5)

I am guessing it is the planning server but I am looking for some independent verification.

Also when installing the planning server can you point at Sql Server & SSAS on a different box.

Hi Larry,

ProClarity Analytics 6.3 isn't included in PerformancePoint installers.

You can get an evaluation copy here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=1fbeb8a0-25e6-4963-9cf2-b0a3c6852f49&displaylang=en

There is ProClarity-like analytics functionality in Performance CTP2... web-based analytic charts & grids which are killer for use in dashboards. Significant additional analytics functionality's on its way in future CTPs. This is all part of "Monitoring Server".

Web analytic views you create with ProClarity can be integrated into PerformancePoint dashboards via mashup, and may be strongly supported in future CTPs.
